After his singing career, Glen transitioned to television production. He worked on The Fugitive before landing his own production deal with Universal Studios. When he sold the original idea for the TV show Battlestar Gallactica, he was given a then-unheard-of $1 million per episode budget.

The show was canceled after one season. Larson's first massive hit was Quincy, M.E., which aired 146 episodes between 1978 and 1983. Next, he created Magnum P.I. which aired 162 episodes between 1980 and 1988. The Fall Guy aired 113 episodes. Larson was a TV hit machine during his heyday. More recently, he served as a producer on the modern version of Battlestar Gallactica and the spinoff Caprica. Glen A. Larson died on November 14, 2014 in Santa Monica, California at the age of 77.
